who else watched saturday night live last night? it wasn't the best episode ever but the one part that had me seriously cracking up (besides the 'weekly update' bit) was the latest 'digital short' (which is usually funny) featuring host jonah hill telling cast member andy samberg he was dating andy's dad ben samberg - at first i couldn't tell where the skit was headed but then i just started laughing (the tongue action is hilarious) plus andy is so damn adorable - gosh i love him! as for musical guest ms. mariah carey - i think she was a wee bit rusty last night - girlfriend needs to practice her new track touch my body live a few more times...the lyrics go by so fast and i thought she was going to mess it all up but mariah managed to get through it! ms. carey also debuted a new song migrate featuring a guest appearance by rapper t-pain - i'd have to hear the track a couple of more times before i pass judgment - however mimi did look superb - she has totally slimmed down - her body was bangin' (she'll never be the prettiest girl in the room but she works the cards dealt to her plus i'm sure she has gone under the knife once or twice...) popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

hey kids! remember back in november i posted a story about an upcoming photo shoot with kate moss that involved flowers? basically V magazine and SHOWstudio were asking people to send in flowers that might be used in the shoot - well the pictures have arrived (without any actual flowers) in the latest issue of V (the one with the always glamorous gwen stefani on the cover) below are a few of the shots taken by photographer nick knight where ms. moss is doing her best wildflower impressions (of course her nipple had to sneak into three of of the four pictures below...) kate is one of my favorite models to post on - not only is she stunningly gorgeous - she's also been known to be scandalous and messy plus we both share the same birthday (january 16th) i suppose the only model who comes close to being as beautiful and messy of course is naomi campbell who is probably taking it easy right now after being released a few weeks ago from a brazilian hospital where she underwent emergency surgery - hopefully soon she'll have the strength to get back to terrorizing her assistants! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

hey hey! is everyone enjoying their weekend so far? i managed to get a little much needed retail therapy this afternoon plus i'm looking forward to tonight's SNL since mariah carey is the musical guest - i'm curious to see her perform her new addictive single touch my body (she just nabbed the gig this past week when janet jackson came down with the flu) as you may have heard already paris hilton is entering the reality TV ring once again with her new show coming up later this year on MTV called paris hilton's my new BFF where she'll scour the nation to find one person she can befriend for life and i guess trust with her most 'inner thoughts, dreams, and hope for world peace' (take that statement with a heavy dose of sarcasm) we all know how well relationships tend to work out after being set-up on reality TV...my word of advice to the winner is to snap some pictures of paris doing something naughty and then sell 'em when she drops you! no doubt that if the shows does well in the ratings we will be subjected to many more seasons of paris hunting for 'true' friendship...ugh!

i don't have anything against ms. hilton in particular - she's just a total easy wonky eyed target good for a few laughs! the other night there was a press conference held here in los angeles to announce the new reality venture (paris' sister nicky was there along with her new 'boyfriend' benji madden) i actually was invited to cover the event but i had to go to the dentist that night - and when pressed to choose between going to paris' press shindig or the dentist - i chose the latter! however i did gain access to a few pictures from the event which you'll find below (when asked about if she'll have a catch phrase like donald trump's 'you're fired' - she said that's still in development...) of course i'll be tuning into the show when it premieres - i don't think it will be as much of a trainwreck as the upcoming dina lohan's 'hot tranny mess' of a reality show living lohan but it will probably provide plenty of amusing blog fodder for us bloggers! if you're secretly dying inside to be a BFF of paris - head over to parisbff.com where you can upload an audition video of yourself for a chance to be one of the chosen competitors! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

hey hey! i just got in from running a couple of errands all over town - and what was i blasting in the car? oh yes i'm still listening to britney spears' latest album blackout which was released back in october - and right now it's march and i'm still needing my daily fix of ms. spears! i love almost every track - it's upbeat and catchy - the whole vibe is consistent - however i don't know how much we can actually credit ms. spears for the album since we all know she was a total mess while making it yet she managed to get herself some kick-ass producers & writers who truly delivered one tight pop dance album! this past week britney debuted her animated video for her newly released third single break the ice - which just happens to be one of my favorite tracks! the video is just ok (i would've preferred to see ms. spears in the flesh dancing around...maybe next time if she's up for it) but the song totally rules! the video is posted below courtesy of the good folks from myspace celebrity!

tonight i'm going to try and watch '08 best picture winner no country for old men which i picked up on blu-ray earlier this week - shame on me for having seen it earlier! popbytes over & out...xxoo! oh no! i was so bummed to see david hernandez get the boot on american idol tonight - i was convinced that kristy lee cook would go home tonight - she was the by far the worst last night with her awful rendition of eight days a week although i wasn't a fan of mr. hernandez in the beginning he started to really grow on me plus he's pretty cute! however i'm betting that all the stripper talk surrounding david probably ended up doing him in before his time! now we're down to the final 11 - everyone is all about david archuleta who i do like but there's something about his whole personality and vibe that is a complete turn-off! as far as other contestants are concerned...isn't jason castro just downright adorable? his light blue eyes are gorgeous plus he seems so shy and genuine - i really like him! i'm also digging on brooke white - i loved seeing her play the piano last night while singing let it be yet it's still anybody's game! at least we're finally down to just two nights a week - three was totally pushing it! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

good evening! i'm in total shock over the picture of a gaunt patrick swayze on the cover of the latest national enquirer...last week editor-in-chief david perel and his staff broke the very tragic news about mr. swayze battling pancreatic cancer with supposedly only weeks to live! now seeing a current picture - i doubt he has a long time left - and besides pancreatic cancer is one of the worst types to have - a distant relative of mine passed away not too long ago from the exact same cancer - she went downhill very quickly - and was only in her forties - so sad! the picture also shows him still smoking - word is that his cigarette habit was sometimes up to three packs a day - that's a shit load of smokes! i think i've told you before that i happen to be a smoker but i really keep thinking about quitting and pictures like the one below are worth a thousand words - i don't even physically enjoy it all that much - it's all up in my head and i need to start coming to terms with saying goodbye to the cancer sticks - it's a terribly dirty (and expensive) habit which i need to break...sooner rather than later

there's a couple of other stories on the cover including more about that whole heather locklear suicide call which took me by surprise since she always seems so well put together - i hope everything is ok with ms. locklear - i love the fact that she's with jack wagner - they make a stunning couple! front and center we've got weddings supposedly being called off for both katie couric and nicole richie (there hasn't been a really hot celebrity wedding yet in '08...i'd love to see brangelina walk down the aisle before the year is out) the bit of gossip at the bottom has me wondering what's up with mandy moore's mom stacy leaving her dad for a woman? that's drama but it's not all that uncommon...i'm sure we'll be hearing more about the situation with mandy's mom soon! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

duffy's debut album rockferry was released earlier this month overseas and will hit the states on may 18th! who else watched saturday night live last night? it wasn't the best episode ever but the one part that had me seriously cracking up (besides the 'weekly update' bit) was the latest 'digital short' (which is usually funny) featuring host jonah hill telling cast member andy samberg he was dating andy's dad ben samberg - at first i couldn't tell where the skit was headed but then i just started laughing (the tongue action is hilarious) plus andy is so damn adorable - gosh i love him! as for musical guest ms. mariah carey - i think she was a wee bit rusty last night - girlfriend needs to practice her new track touch my body live a few more times...the lyrics go by so fast and i thought she was going to mess it all up but mariah managed to get through it! ms. carey also debuted a new song migrate featuring a guest appearance by rapper t-pain - i'd have to hear the track a couple of more times before i pass judgment - however mimi did look superb - she has totally slimmed down - her body was bangin' (she'll never be the prettiest girl in the room but she works the cards dealt to her plus i'm sure she has gone under the knife once or twice...) popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

good morning and happy friday! last night my pal jordy sent me over this hilarious clip from funny lady chelsea handler's late night talk show chelsea lately which airs on E! (speaking of E! last night i went to the dentist and was forced to watch like over an hour of keeping up with the kardashians while waiting in the dentist chair but there was no sound...i had to read what they were saying via closed captioning - ugh!) ms. handler talks about how the network wants her to attend a sexual harassment class because of how she treats her staff...just watch the clip - she's so damn funny! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

hey hey! as promised below are a few more pictures along with two videos from the incredible sheryl crow show this past tuesday night - it was amazing to see her play live in such a small and cool venue as el rey theatre...except the lady who deals with the line outside is out of her freakin' mind - don't ever bring gum there because they'll make you spit it out and force you to throw your whole pack away! (there's carpet inside - so i'm sure they don't want that mucking up the floor) but you can bring cameras - woo hoo!

this was one of three nights of a mini-tour ms. crow is doing in support of her kick-ass new album detours (the other two dates were february 6th & 7th at NYC's irving plaza's the fillmore - she'll be doing a larger tour as well) sheryl and her band of eight played for a little over 90 minutes which contained a lot of her new material (her latest album was produced by bill bottrell who also did sheryl's debut album tuesday night music club) mixed with a number of her standards like strong enough, if it makes you happy, leaving las vegas, soak up the sun, everyday is a winding road, my favorite mistake, all i wanna do plus covers of jackson browne's doctor my eyes, led zeppelin's rock and roll and the rolling stones' gimme shelter which she blended with her new track gasoline and was joined on stage by the amazing ben harper (who was in attendance with his wife laura dern - one of my favorite actresses of all-time!)

as soon as she hit the stage i immediately remembered how incredible ms. crow is live - tuesday night was certainly no exception - she's a little older & wiser (and a new mom to wyatt crow) yet seems to only be getting better with age - like a fine wine (tacky cliche alert!) anyways i must also give a quick shout-out to stephanie and anitra who i met at the show and we stood together and made sure to block anyone who tried to get in our way! (we also spotted 90210's ian ziering at the show) as for the videos below...i'll warn you now that the audio isn't the best (strong enough is better than the ben harper clip) but you'll get the general idea of what was going on - i so need to get a better quality small camera that i can take to shows! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

This past Friday March 7th marked the 25th anniversary of the release of the biggest selling 12" single of all time: Blue Monday by New Order. Did you know it was inspired by both Sylvester and Donna Summer? It's been covered by Orgy & Nouvelle Vague, and M.I.A. & Rihanna both sample it on their latest records. It has inspired countless electronic bands and artists, and I bet you've probably danced to it 1000x or heard it as many - and I bet you still love all 7+ minutes of it. oh no! i was so bummed to see david hernandez get the boot on american idol tonight - i was convinced that kristy lee cook would go home tonight - she was the by far the worst last night with her awful rendition of eight days a week although i wasn't a fan of mr. hernandez in the beginning he started to really grow on me plus he's pretty cute! however i'm betting that all the stripper talk surrounding david probably ended up doing him in before his time! now we're down to the final 11 - everyone is all about david archuleta who i do like but there's something about his whole personality and vibe that is a complete turn-off! as far as other contestants are concerned...isn't jason castro just downright adorable? his light blue eyes are gorgeous plus he seems so shy and genuine - i really like him! i'm also digging on brooke white - i loved seeing her play the piano last night while singing let it be yet it's still anybody's game! at least we're finally down to just two nights a week - three was totally pushing it! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

good evening! i'm in total shock over the picture of a gaunt patrick swayze on the cover of the latest national enquirer...last week editor-in-chief david perel and his staff broke the very tragic news about mr. swayze battling pancreatic cancer with supposedly only weeks to live! now seeing a current picture - i doubt he has a long time left - and besides pancreatic cancer is one of the worst types to have - a distant relative of mine passed away not too long ago from the exact same cancer - she went downhill very quickly - and was only in her forties - so sad! the picture also shows him still smoking - word is that his cigarette habit was sometimes up to three packs a day - that's a shit load of smokes! i think i've told you before that i happen to be a smoker but i really keep thinking about quitting and pictures like the one below are worth a thousand words - i don't even physically enjoy it all that much - it's all up in my head and i need to start coming to terms with saying goodbye to the cancer sticks - it's a terribly dirty (and expensive) habit which i need to break...sooner rather than later

there's a couple of other stories on the cover including more about that whole heather locklear suicide call which took me by surprise since she always seems so well put together - i hope everything is ok with ms. locklear - i love the fact that she's with jack wagner - they make a stunning couple! front and center we've got weddings supposedly being called off for both katie couric and nicole richie (there hasn't been a really hot celebrity wedding yet in '08...i'd love to see brangelina walk down the aisle before the year is out) the bit of gossip at the bottom has me wondering what's up with mandy moore's mom stacy leaving her dad for a woman? that's drama but it's not all that uncommon...i'm sure we'll be hearing more about the situation with mandy's mom soon! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

good morning!
